Hello, we’re Colin and Mitch (short for Michelle). We live in England with our cat, Jiji. And we have a serious jar habit – a house full of jars just waiting to be filled with delicious goodies.
We have been growing and preserving food for many years. Our little garden and allotment – a small piece of land we rent from our local council – are where we grow all sorts of fruit, vegetables and herbs. Flowers are allowed, but only if they are edible! We also forage for food in our local area. It’s surprising how much food you can find for free!
The great things about preserving food is that you can enjoy a harvest throughout the year. We love experimenting with different cookery techniques as well as finding unusual flavours.
You can find our sister site, Very Tasty World which is all about travel and food.
About Our Blog
No AI was used in the creation of this blog. All our recipes are tested extensively. We have made and eaten all the preserves that we write about (unless we warn you about inedible or poisonous foodstuffs that we definitely haven’t eaten). We’ll try to suggest the most cost-effective way to preserve food without having to pay for expensive equipment.
